As mentioned in our first post about Boknes (destinations uncovered) this small coastal town of Boknes lies “nestled” away between Boesmans River / Kenton on Sea in the East and Cannon Rocks in the West. A sleepy little place out of holiday season, you are pretty much guaranteed to have the best fishing spots all to yourself for most of the year. Endless golden sandy beaches and rugged reefs are all found on this coastline and the opportunities for fishing here are endless.

The non-return slide
Fishing with a non-return slide. The term “sliding” is used to describe the form of angling where a piece of bait is slid into the water instead of casting it. This enables the angler to get larger baits into deeper water. This facet of angling can be used effectively by all anglers, regardless of their level of skill or expertise. Once you have mastered the basics you will be pulling some big fish in no time. It is mainly utilized to target larger fish species and sharks.

The frenzy
There is no feeling like it! No way to describe it! Many people will go a lifetime without knowing what its like. (I feel sorry for those people)
Boknes – A hidden paradise (part 1)
I remember clearly the feeling of the last day of a primary school term. You could hardly wait for the bell to announce the end of the school day. Your bags and fishing kit had been packed and repacked all week.

Cannon Rocks – A quick visit to the hallowed grounds
Cannon Rocks fishing trip! The early winter season jitters had firmly taken hold of me. This is a feeling I have grown accustomed to while living down in the Western Cape. Here winter spells bad news for artificial-lure angling and a road-trip down to the Eastern Cape was required to suppress the looming feelings of insanity.
